Tax Stabilization Program Reminder

The Tax Stabilization Program is a new program from the State of Maine.  Applications for the program were due December 1, 2022.  The program is effective April 1, 2023, which means you will see the freeze on the next tax bill you receive in September 2023.  For more info about the program, please click here.

Tax Collection Information

The tax rate is committed or set by the Town Council in September.  The first tax bill is mailed shortly after commitment to the owner of the property as of April 1st each year.  If you escrow your taxes, it is your responsibility to forward tax information to your mortgage company.  Taxes are due in three installments (see your "Tax Due Dates").  Interest accrues on unpaid taxes and any that remain unpaid at the end of the fiscal year (June 30th) will be included in a lien process.  The Town will foreclose on unpaid liens.

Real estate and personal property tax may be paid online by clicking here.  If you are paying after the due date, please call the Tax Office to receive an updated amount due as interest accrues daily after the due dates.  You will need your tax bill number to complete the process.
