The Port Authority consists of 7 members, serving terms of 5 years and until their successors are appointed and qualified.
The Port Authority may:
- Plan for the maintenance and development of the port, harbor and navigable tidal waters within the jurisdiction of the Town, in order to foster and stimulate commercial and recreational use of these areas; and
- Aid in the development of salt water fisheries and associated industries; ship and boat building, repair and storage and associated industries; pleasure boating, swimming and other associated recreational uses of these areas and facilities; and
- Be custodian of municipally-owned wharves, docks, piers and landings; and
- Make such rules and regulations touching municipally-owned wharves, docks, piers and landings, harbors, harbormasters, and the conduct of its business, as necessary; and, set a fee schedule for the uses thereof.

The Port Authority scheduled a Public Hearing on Wednesday July 8, 2020 at 6:00 PM at the Kittery Community Center- Star Theater for the appplication of 5 Mill Pond Road, Kittery, ME 03904 (Map 23, Lot 5) to replace an old dilapidated dock with a new 4' x 80' pier, a 3' x 36' ramp, and a 10' x 20' float. Agent is Lisa Vickers of Atlantic Environmental, LLC.
The 2019 boating season is now behind us and thank you to all that made it successful. We hope all have a great winter and we look forward to seeing all in 2020.
