Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Training Exercise - Tuesday, July 18, 2023

The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard will conduct a harbor security training exercise in the vicinity of Gunboat Shoal Buoy #1 located outside of the mouth of the Piscataqua River, today, Tuesday, July 18, 2023. 

U.S. Navy harbor security boats will be using blank ammunition during the training exercise.  Those in close proximity to the training location may hear noise associated with the blank ammunition.

The U.S. Coast Guard will disseminate a Sécurité (maritime radio notice) hourly while the blank ammunition exercise is ongoing.

This exercise is designed to enhance the training and readiness of Navy harbor security forces and is not in response to any specific threat, but is a regularly scheduled exercise.
