National Drug Take Back Day - Saturday, October 27

National Drug Take Back Day Kittery

National Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2016 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.2 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.

Drug Take Back Day provides an opportunity to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths by properly disposing of any unwanted, unused or expired prescription medications in your home.

In observation of Drug Take Back Day, the Kittery Police Department, located at 200 Rogers Road, will be accepting prescription, over the counter and veterinary pills, drops and ointments from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2018.
