Maine Pesticides Notification Program

The Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, Board of Pesticides Control administers the state's Pesticides Notification Program. Maine law assures residents the right to know what pesticides are being applied in their vicinity. Click here to for details about registration.

The Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry note that everyone has a right to use pesticides.  That right includes the requirement to follow pesticide application laws, including reading and following label directions, and notifying neighbors who request it. There are two options for residents interested in being notified of pesticide application in their area: the Request for Notification and the Maine Pesticide Notification Registry.
