Kittery Launching New Harbor Management System - March 1, 2019

The Town of Kittery’s Harbormaster is excited to announce the addition of a new harbor management system, debuting March 1, 2019.  Beginning March 1, boaters will have an online option to apply for moorings and other harbor-related permits, pay electronically, and receive real-time updates on application status and other important boating information in Kittery.

The new system will also provide additional features, such as:

  • 24/7 Access: Login and check the status of your mooring permit, update contact information, and access account information at any time, from anywhere.
  • Electronic Payment: Pay fees electronically by PayPal or credit card.
  • Timely Updates: Receive email notifications throughout the application and renewal process, from submission to approval.
  • Pay Boat Excise Tax: Pay required boat excise tax for out-of-state registered and federally documented boats online.
  • Go Paperless: Upload required documents, such as boat registration and mooring inspections.
  • Reserve a Transient Mooring or Slip: View availability of transient facilities, reserve space, and pay online.

Applications, renewals and payments will continue to be accepted in person.  Beginning this year, the Customer Service Center at Town Hall will accept applications and process payments for mooring renewals, wait lists, boat excise tax, and various seasonal permits. The Customer Service Center is open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

On or around March 1st, current mooring holders and those currently on the wait list will receive an email with a link to the online system and instructions to get started on their renewals.   The Town’s website will also contain the link and information for customers seeking to apply or renew their boating permits.

This system is being rolled out as part of the Town’s ongoing effort to make more services available electronically.  Feedback from the customers will be a valuable component of the process, and boaters and customers are asked to share their thoughts on their experiences with the Harbormaster.

Due to the launch of the new system, renewals for mooring holders and those on the waitlist will begin on March 1, 2019.
