Freebie Barn Community Swap at the KCC - Sunday, February 26, 2023

Freebie Barn Community Swap Kittery

The Town of Kittery will host the next Freebie Barn Community Swap this Sunday, February 26, 2023.  The Community Swap will take place from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Kittery Community Center Gymnasium, located at 120 Rogers Road in Kittery.  The Community Swap is open to the public and does not require a Kittery Resource Recovery Sticker.

During the Community Swap, the public is welcome to donate, peruse and take home items that fit within the Freebie Barn’s monthly theme. The items being collected for the month of February are dishes, kitchen equipment and small appliances.

  • Monthly themed items can be dropped off at the Community Swap from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM.
  • Items can be perused and taken home at the Community Swap from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

Any donated items remaining at the end of the Community Swap will be transferred to our community partners who specialize in the reuse, repurpose or recycling of specific items.  This approach will help ensure the Freebie Barn has circulating stock and that items quickly get into the right hands to be reused or recycled. 

Our community partner for February is Fair Tide. Fair Tide secures permanent housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the Kittery area. Items left over from the Community Swap will go to Fair Tide for use in their Thrift Shop, which helps fund their programs, and to the families they serve.  To learn more about Fair Tide, please click here.
