Come Learn About Sustainable Lawn Care Practices

Maine Yardscaping Workshop Kittery

The cool climate of Maine favors healthy lawns and grass will grow lush with few problems as long as basic plant needs are met. This starts with healthy soil, and includes mowing at higher levels, topdressing with compost, over-seeding, and watering deeply but infrequently. These practices will reduce the need for pesticides and fertilizers. Natural and organic land care practices will help preserve the environment, restore local water quality, maintain essential pollinator habitat, and help promote a safe and healthy community for all residents, children, and pets.

The Towns of Kittery, Eliot, South Berwick, Berwick and York have teamed-up to provide workshops to inform residents about sustainable lawn care practices. Contact Kristie Rabasca (krabasca@integratedenv.com or 207-415-5830) to attend or sign up on your Adult Ed site!
