It's time to begin the Fall 2023 phase of  Fort Foster's Invasive Species Management Plan and the Town of Kittery is looking for volunteers! Help our team treat and remove non-native plants and establish habitats for cottontail rabbits at one of our Fort Foster Invasives Management volunteer events.

The Town will host two volunteer opportunities at Fort Foster:

  • Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
  • Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM

At these events, volunteers will meet local Entomologist, Michael Morrison at the gates of Fort Foster to learn about the Town's invasives management plan, how to identify and remove invasive plants, and get work assignments. Volunteers are asked to come prepared to work in wooded areas/tall grass (long pants/sleeves, work gloves and closed-toed shoes are suggested).

To volunteer at one of our upcoming events, please sign up by clicking here.

For more information or questions about volunteering, please contact Haley Mock at 207-475-1311 or HMock@kitteryme.org.

We hope you'll join us in helping to keep Fort Foster Park healthy and ensure it continues to thrive for all to enjoy.
