Update - September 28, 2023

On Friday, September 29, 2023, grinding work will be taking place in preparation for final paving on Whipple Road (portion from Woodlawn to the Kittery Point bridge).  Final paving on Whipple Road is scheduled for Tuesday, October 3 or Wednesday, October 4, weather permitting, along with final paving on Bicknell Street.
 
Residents should expect traffic delays while the paving work is completed. Equipment operation and construction within the confines of roadways is very difficult and safety is always a concern. We appreciate the patience of drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists, as we work to complete this project.

Update - September 6, 2023

Paving operations are moving along quickly and ahead of schedule. All streets in Admiralty village should be completed by the end of the week. 

Paving will begin on Whipple Road (portion from Woodlawn to Kittery Point bridge) on Monday, September 11. Residents should expect traffic delays while the paving work is completed. Equipment operation and construction within the confines of roadways is very difficult and safety is always a concern. We appreciate the patience of drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists, as we work to complete this project.

Update - August 30, 2023

As preparation work is completed, paving is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 on the following public roads, weather permitting:

  •  Manson Avenue
  • Goodrich Street
  • Dismukes Street
  • Cole Street
  • Philbrick Avenue

During paving road work, all vehicles must be off the roadways and out of the right-of-ways within the paving zones.  Any vehicles that are not moved on paving day(s) may be towed at the owner's expense.  Residents that are unable to fit vehicles within their own driveways are encouraged to utilize parking available at Emery Field, located at 2 Cole Street, while paving is completed.

Once paving is completed on the roads above, paving will continue on the following public roads, weather permitting:

  • Whipple Road (portion from Woodlawn to Kittery Point bridge)
  • Bridgeview Terrace
  • Gray Lodge Road
  • School Lane
  • Bicknell Street

Beginning the week of August 7, 2023, the Town of Kittery’s paving contractor will begin preparation work for the annual pavement management program. 

Residents on the following public roads may notice orange paint and grinding at the end of their driveways in advance of the final pavement overlay scheduled to begin mid-August:

  •  Manson Avenue
  • Goodrich Street
  • Dismukes Street
  • Cole Street
  • Philbrick Avenue

Upon completion of the roads listed above, paving will continue this fall for the following public roads:

  • Whipple Road (portion from Woodlawn to Kittery Point bridge)
  • Bridgeview Terrace
  • Gray Lodge Road
  • School Lane
  • Bicknell Street

Please note that all paving work is dependent on weather and contractor schedules.  Additional updates will be posted in mid-August and in the fall.
