The Kittery Resource Recovery Facility will open at 10AM on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.  The delayed opening will allow staff to assist as needed with ice pre-treatment operations.  .

The Thresher Memorial flag has been taken down in preparation for Tuesday's storm.  The flag will be raised again once it is safe to do so.

Parking Ban Information

The Town of Kittery has instituted an on-street parking ban per Kittery Town Code Chapter 10.3.1.6 from 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.  The municipal parking lot, and the Kittery Art Association parking lots will be available for parking.  Please see the photo below to view the lots available for parking.

The Town of Kittery would like to remind residents that the winter parking ban is still in effect.  Per Kittery Town Code Chapter 10.3.1.6, no vehicle should be parked on any Town way between the hours of midnight - 6:00 AM, regardless of weather conditions.  Violations of the parking ban could result in a fine and the vehicle being towed at the owner’s expense.

Safety Reminders

For those that must travel during the storm, please remember to clear the snow from vehicles before getting on the road, take it slow and leave plenty of room for plows and public safety vehicles.

Our public safety personnel will be actively addressing storm impacts throughout town.  By staying away from highly impacted, risky areas, you can help make their jobs significantly easier.

Contact Public Safety Dispatch at 207-439-1638 if you see:

  • Downed trees – due to snow-melt saturating the ground, trees are more susceptible to falling from high winds. Call if you see a downed tree along the road that may impede evacuations or Fire and Police access.
  • Downed Power Lines – never touch a downed line, even if you think it is not a power line or is not charged or “live”.  Kittery Fire and CMP will assess downed lines and determine how to safely move them.
