Dennett Road Bridge Project - Spring 2018

Maine Turnpike Authority Dennett Road Bridge Project

At the Town Council meeting on February 26th, the Maine Turnpike Authority presented their plan for the Dennett Road Bridge Project taking place this Spring.  The project consists of general repairs and modifications to the Dennett Road Overpass Bridge in Kittery.  The scope of work includes:

  • A new pavement surface on the Northbound bridge
  • Joint and bearing repairs
  • Reconstruction of the concrete end post
  • Upgrades to the guardrail connections and bridge median guardrail to concrete barriers
  • Abutment repairs, as well as girder and concrete deck repairs

The work is expected to begin in March of 2018, with completion by August 31st, 2018.  In order to maintain three lanes of traffic in each direction on the mainline of the Turnpike, closures of Exit 1 Northbound and Southbound will occur.
