Demolition of the old Kittery Community Center building located at 2 Cole Street will begin Monday, April 22, 2024.  Demolition work will occur, Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  The work is expected to be completed by mid-May.

Construction fencing and erosion control measures will be installed, followed by hazardous material abatement work in preparation for the demolition.  Once complete, the building will be demolished, and the area will be leveled out and restored with loam and seed.

The Emery Field parking lot, field, basketball and pickleball courts will remain fully accessible during the demolition work, but access to the site will be restricted from the Manson Avenue side.

As the safety of the public is always a priority, visitors to Emery Field Park are asked to stay outside of the posted work areas and away from equipment during the construction period.

If you have any questions about the project, please contact Public Works Inspector, Jessa Kellogg at (207) 752-7242.
