The Town of Kittery is seeking an individual attorney and/or law firm to represent the Town, including advising on municipal legal questions, preparing and reviewing ordinances, providing written or verbal opinions on municipal legal matters, prosecuting offenders and defending the officials, provide opinion on land use law, prepare legal documents such as deeds, easements, and contracts, and other duties as assigned.  The Town will continue to retain its long-term Town Attorney Duncan McEachern for legal counsel on specific matters.

Each proposal shall be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the Attorney’s name and “Municipal Legal Services” on the outside. Electronic proposals will not be accepted.  Each price proposal shall be submitted in a separate sealed envelope within the proposal package, clearly marked with the Attorney’s name and “Municipal Legal Services” on the outside. 

The deadline for sealed proposals is September 26, 2019, by 10:00 AM.  Proposals should be delivered to:

Unless otherwise specified, questions pertaining to general information regarding the scope of services shall be addressed only in writing. No questions will be answered in-person or via telephone. Questions shall be written and emailed to the following:
