Kittery Youth Committee

About the Committee

At their February 27, 2023 meeting, the Town Council established the Kittery Youth Ad Hoc Committee (Youth Committee).  The Committee will meet as often as it determines necessary to complete its work.

The Youth Committee is charged with the the following objectives:

• Assess the passive recreative needs and interests of Kittery's youth that is:
  • Available year round, on weekends and school breaks.
  • Not an organized sport.
• Recommend next steps to the KCC Board of Directors, Rice Public Library, School Department and Kittery Town Council, which may include the development and implementation of passive and social recreational opportunities in existing facilities, or the creation of new recreational facilities such as a skatepark.

Committee Membership

The Youth Committee will consist of the following members: 3 at-large residents, 2 Town Councilors, 2 representatives from the KCC Board of Directors, 2 student representatives, 1 representative from the School Committee and 1 representative from the DEI Committee.
