Important Party Change Information for the June 11, 2024 Town Meeting & School Budget Validation Referendum & State Primary Election - April 11, 2024
Ongoing Absentee Voter Status Applications Available at Town Hall - April 10, 2024
Effective February 2024, voters who will be at least 65 years of age by the next election or who self-identify as a voter with a disability (or who meet both conditions) can submit a written application to request ongoing absentee voter status.
Ongoing absentee voter status means that after submitting the ongoing absentee ballot status application located below, the voter does not need to submit an application for each election; instead, the voter will automatically receive an absentee ballot for each ensuing statewide election, municipal election and any other election for which the voter is entitled to vote.
To apply for ongoing absentee voter status, please download and complete the application form found by clicking here.
Once completed, the form must be signed by the voter and submitted to the Kittery Town Clerk’s Office. Completed forms may be submitted:
- In-person at the Town Clerk’s Office or Customer Service Center during regular business hours:
- Regular business hours are 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM Monday - Wednesday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM on Thursdays and 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM on Fridays.
- Mailed to the Town Clerk’s Office at 200 Rogers Road, Kittery, ME 03904.
- Emailed to the Town Clerk’s Office at jrichards@kitteryme.org or jwheeler@kitteryme.org.

Absentee Ballot Applications Are Available Now for the June 11, 2024 Town Meeting & School Budget Validation Referendum & State Primary Election - March 26, 2024
The Town of Kittery is now accepting absentee ballot applications for the June 11, 2024 Town Meeting/School Budget Validation Referendum & State Primary Election. Voters can request an absentee ballot until 6:00 PM on June 6, 2024.
- To request an absentee ballot by phone, please call the Town Clerk’s office at 207-475-1313.
- To request an absentee ballot online, please download and complete the application from the Town of Kittery website by clicking here.
- Once the PDF form is completed, it can be sent via email to jrichards@kitteryme.org, jwheeler@kitteryme.org or mailed to Town Hall at 200 Rogers Road, Kittery, ME 03904.
- To request an absentee ballot in-person, please visit the Customer Service Center at Town Hall, Monday through Wednesday, from 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Thursday, from 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM and Friday from 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM.
Please note that absentee ballots are not available at this time. As soon as the Town Clerk receives absentee ballots, they will be mailed out to those who have filed an application, and a notice will be posted online and at Town Hall announcing that they have arrived.
The election will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM at the Kittery Community Center Gymnasium located at 120 Rogers Road, Kittery, ME 03904.

Upcoming Election Dates
Party Change Deadline - May 24, 2024 by 1:30 PM
Voters that would like to withdraw or change their party enrollment are required to do so at least 15 days prior to the election. The deadline to withdraw or change party enrollment and be eligible to vote in the June 11, 2024 Town Meeting & School Budget Validation Referendum & State Primary is May 24, 2024 by 1:30 PM.
Voter Registration Night - June 6, 2024
This event will assist residents with voter registration, name/address corrections, and absentee voting. If registering to vote, please bring proof of identity and residency with you.
Town Meeting & School Budget Validation Referendum & State Primary Election - June 11, 2024
The election will take place at the Kittery Community Center Gymnasium, located at 120 Rogers Road in Kittery. Polls will be open from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM.
Municipal Election & Presidential General Election - November 5, 2024
The election will take place at the Kittery Community Center Gymnasium, located at 120 Rogers Road in Kittery. Polls will be open from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM.
Re-districting Information
The State recently completed its redistricting of Maine. To look-up your district, or find out if your district has changed, please use the Maine Voter Information Lookup Service located here.
Get Registered
If you're not yet registered to vote, you need to submit a Maine Voter Registration Application.

- Move or change your address.
- Have an updated address due to the Town changing your street name or street number.
- Change your name.
- When updating a voter registration card due to a name change, you must include a certified copy citing the change through Marriage, Death or Legal Name change through a court system.
- Wish to change your party.
- Visit Town Hall, located at 200 Rogers Road, Kittery, ME between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, and make the changes in person.
- Complete a new card by clicking here, and either mailing, or dropping off the completed card to the Kittery Town Hall.
- When mailing or dropping off a new voter registration card, you will be required to include proof of residency along with it. Proof of residency can include a tax bill, utility bill, bank statement or lease/deed documentation.
