Poll Worker Recruitment Day

Today is “National Poll Worker Recruitment Day”, a national day of action established by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) to encourage people to help America vote by signing up to be a poll worker.  Encouraging more people to become poll workers helps to strengthen our democracy, inspire greater civic engagement and help America vote.

Citizens are needed to work at the polls on Election Day, as well as in advance to help process absentee ballots.  Interested in becoming a poll worker for the Town of Kittery?  Check out some of the eligibility requirements below:

Eligibility:
  • Must be 18 years old
    • 16 and 17 year olds who are conditionally registered to vote are allowed to serve
  • Must be a registered Maine voter
  • Must be a resident of Kittery
  • Must not be a candidate or member of a candidate’s immediate family
