Kittery Launches New Online Permitting System
The Town of Kittery is excited to announce the launch of a new online permitting system! With the new e-permitting system, applicants can apply for a variety of permits online, such as Building permits, Business Use Changes, Home Occupations and more. To access the new system, click the "Online Services" button on the Kitteryme.gov homepage and then select "Online Permitting" or click here.
The online permitting system allows applicants to apply online, pay online, and receive on-going notifications when permits are issued, inspections are conducted, and completions are certified.
The e-permitting process will provide a variety of great features:
- 24/7 Access: Login and check the status of your permit at any time, from anywhere.
- Simple Set-up: Creating an account and submitting a permit is intuitive and easy to use.
- Helpful Updates: Applicants will receive status emails and notifications throughout the process, from submission to completion.
- Enhanced Data Management: The system allows applicants to submit electronic payments, upload plans, monitor application status and communicate directly with Town Hall staff.
The system received a soft launch on April 17th. Over the next few weeks, adjustments will be made to ensure the customer experience is a positive one, and that town processes are aligned. Customer input and feedback will be a valuable component. Applicants are encouraged to share their thoughts on their experiences with the tool.
Customers wishing to submit permit applications in person, will still be welcome to do so at the Planning & Development Department at Town Hall, Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
