Welcome to the SAFE After School Program


Welcome to the SAFE (Safe Alternatives For Enrichment) After-school Program.  Kittery Recreation Department is pleased to provide this program for your family.  The SAFE Program is an after-school program for children in Kindergarten through 8th grade.  It is designed to meet the needs of parents and guardians during the after school hours.  The SAFE Program is a licensed childcare center with the State of Maine Department of Human Services, and it encompasses a variety of activities from homework time to arts & crafts, games and outdoor play.

SAFE offers children the opportunity to be supervised in a safe environment when school ends from 2:00-6:00 p.m. daily.  This after school program offers participants a variety of recreational and enrichment activities Monday-Friday at Frisbee School.  This program is offered during vacations, early out days, and teacher conference days. All participants must be registered in the S.A.F.E. Program before participating.  All forms must be fully completed and a nonrefundable $25 enrollment fee must be paid in order to hold a spot for your child.

Included at the S.A.F.E. Program:

Field Trips, Home Work Area, Daily Craft Activities, Special visits by Performers, Instructors and Groups, Snack Time, daily Outdoor Activities, Vacation Week Coverage, Teacher Conference Coverage, Early Out day coverage, Age Appropriate Activities and Transportation.

A registration form and parent information packet is available at the Recreation Office, 120 Rogers Rd., Kittery.
