The Kittery Police Department currently has 18 fulltime police officers who are responsible for the safety and security of our community. Several of our officers take on additional responsibilities and assignments to provide the highest level of service possible. Specialties such K-9, Tactical, Drug Recognition Experts and more enhance our department’s ability to accomplish our mission.
The members of our department are proud to serve and represent Maine’s first town. Please come and visit our historic sites and feel free to spend some time shopping and enjoying the many restaurants we have to offer.

It shall be the mission of all members of the Kittery Police Department to provide professional and progressive public safety services through a philosophy of Purpose Driven Policing. With the understanding that our actions will prevent crimes, solve problems and create a safe environment for all who live, work and visit our community.
