How do I get a copy of a police report or accident report?

Come to the police department any Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 8:00am to 4:30 pm.
Or, you can call and have the report mailed to you.

Does it cost anything for a copy of a report?
Yes, $10.00 for the first 3 pages, and $1.00 per page for each page thereafter. Reports mailed require pre-payment by the requesting person or business. Checks only!

Is there a Parking Ban in Kittery and Kittery Point?

Yes, from November 15th through April 15th, there is an all night Winter Parking Ban in continuous effect.
There may be additional times during declared snow emergencies.
Your vehicle could be towed during snow emergencies or for repeated violations of the parking ban, particularly if your parked vehicle interferes with snow removal operations or is a traffic hazard.

Are Bicycles required by Town Ordinance to be registered?

No, if you reside in Kittery, you are may register all bicycles in the household at the Kittery Police Department.How much does it cost to register a bicycle?
Nothing! This is a FREE service of the Police Department.How do I register a bicycle?
Simply go to the Police Department and speak with the Dispatcher at the window any Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:30pm. You will need to have the following information with you:
the make and model of the bicycle
the color, size and style/type of bicycle
and most important - the SERIAL NUMBER!

Can I get my fingerprints taken at the Police Department?

Yes, if you need your fingerprints taken for a job you are applying for, a securities, insurance or real estate position, visit the Police Department any Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 8:00pm. Bona fide emergency requests will be honored at all other times.How much does it cost for the Fingerprinting service?

When do I have to register my dog(s) and what are the fees? Is there a "late" penalty?
9202006_34736_0.bmpAll dogs need to be licensed by December 31st. Grace Period allowed till January 31st.
9202006_34736_0.bmpThere is a late fee of $15.00. The fee to license a dog is $6.00 for Neutered or Spayed dogs.

Is there a leash law ?
All dogs are required to be on a leash unless under the direct control of their owner. 9202006_34736_0.bmpAll dogs are required to be on a leash while visiting our beaches. (see the current ordinances located at the beach.)

Now that my court case is over, how do I get any property back that was seized as evidence?

Call Detective Hackett Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 3:00pm. Due to the internal security provisions of property and evidence control, you must call 24 hours prior to picking up any property you may be entitled to. Under no circumstances will contraband or other illegal material be returned to you.

I would like to arrange a Station Tour, how do I do that?

1. During the normal working hours, (Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm) you can call and speak with the Chief of Police, or if unavailable, the on-duty Shift Supervisor.
2. During non-business hours you can call and speak with the Shift Supervisor.

Do you have handicapped access to your Police Department?
Our facility is fully handicapped accessible.

Do you have equipment so that the hearing impaired or deaf can call and speak to your dispatch center?

We have within the State of the Art Dispatch center, the Telecommunications Device for the Deaf. (T.D.D.) which enables us to have full communication with the hearing impaired.
