Crockett Neck Road Project
Information for residents of Crockett Neck Road:

The Kittery Water District is coordinating with the Kittery Department of Public Works on this section of street, as the DPW is planning a fall construction project to replace the culvert at the causeway and to rebuild a section of Crockett Neck Road that is in poor condition, mainly due to poor drainage. The KWD is currently working to replace the old 6"cast iron water main installing a new 8" Ductile Iron water main. This project will greatly improve fire flows from the fire hydrants, be more reliable in regards to breaking provide better water quality and improved volume to our consumers. This project began on September 20th and is expected to be completed on or near October 19th. The roadway will however remain gravel as the Towns contractor will be reclaiming the existing hot top, or at least what's left of it when we're done our work.

The roadway is closed during our construction, Monday - Friday from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, however open to local traffic, i.e.: residents, emergency vehicles and service vehicles (Garbage trucks, oil trucks, delivery trucks, etc.). Even the local traffic may experience a slight delay, emergency vehicles almost no delay, just time enough for our crew to move equipment out of the travel lane.
